Dr Tynan is the Research Lead at Everymind. The majority of Dr Tynan's research is within the area of workplace mental health, as well as the prevention of mental-ill health and suicide.

Dr Tynan is currently working on research to better understand suicide stigma (and associated factors) in a variety of workplaces including the mining industry, creative, media and marketing industries, and the small business sector. Dr Tynan's current research interests also involve recommendations for the safe and accurate portrayal of suicide in Australian mass media, including application of recommendations, as well as the attitudes towards the recommendations held by journalism and public relations professionals.
